Requirements & Access — The Four Conditions, in Order
Four conditions decide whether the Marketplace opens for your account. This page is the short reference: each condition in order, what it means, and the fix if it is the one blocking you.
//- 01 - THE SHORT VERSION
THE SHORT VERSION
This page is the quick reference, kept deliberately short. For the full walkthrough — where each setting lives, the longer explanations and the edge cases — read our complete R6 Marketplace Requirements guide. The reference version is this: all four conditions below must be true at the same time, or the Marketplace stays locked.
- 1. Clearance level 25 or higher on your Siege account.
- 2. 2-Step Verification active on your Ubisoft account.
- 3. Recent XP-granting activity — you have played matches recently, not months ago.
- 4. Account in good standing — no active bans or sanctions.
Meet three of the four and the result is the same as meeting none: no access. The good news is that each condition has a straightforward fix.

//- 02 - CONDITION BY CONDITION
CONDITION BY CONDITION
1. Clearance level 25. Your Siege clearance level must be at least 25 — roughly 15 to 25 hours of play for most players. There is no workaround and no paid shortcut: if you are below 25, the fix is simply to play until you reach it. Check your level in-game before troubleshooting anything else.
2. 2-Step Verification active. 2-Step Verification must be switched on for your Ubisoft account — having set it up once and later turned it off is not enough; it has to be active now. Ubisoft has said it is pushing app-based verification for key features such as the Marketplace, so an authenticator app is the safest setup. Turn it on in your Ubisoft account security settings.
3. Recent XP activity. Your account needs recent in-game activity that grants XP. An account that qualified months ago and then went idle can find the Marketplace locked again. The fix is unglamorous: play some matches, earn XP, then try again.
4. Good standing. Your account must have no active bans or sanctions. If a sanction is in force, access waits until it is resolved — there is no setting to change. If you believe a sanction is a mistake, that goes through Ubisoft Support, not any setting on this page.

//- 03 - STILL LOCKED?
STILL LOCKED? CHECK IN THIS ORDER
- Is the Marketplace even open? Ubisoft currently lists it as temporarily closed, with no reopening date announced. While it is closed, no account can trade, however perfect its standing.
- Are you signed in on the official website? Access is checked when you sign in to Ubisoft’s official Marketplace site with your Ubisoft account — a second or wrong account will fail its own checks.
- Work down the four conditions. Level, verification, activity, standing — the blocker is almost always one of them. The Eligibility Checker walks through the same conditions and names the one blocking you.

//- 04 - HOW THEY WORK TOGETHER
HOW THE FOUR CONDITIONS WORK TOGETHER
The four conditions are not a menu to pick from — they are checked together, against your account, when you sign in to the Marketplace website. That is why the troubleshooting advice on this page is always “work down the list”: a single unmet condition produces the same locked result as four, and the page in front of you rarely tells you which one failed.
It also explains why access can appear and disappear. Verification gets turned off during an account change; activity goes stale while you play something else; a sanction lands after a bad weekend. Nothing about your account is broken when that happens — one of the four answers simply changed, and changing it back restores access.

//- 05 - WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG
WHAT PLAYERS GET WRONG
- “I set up 2-Step Verification last year, so I am covered.” Setting it up once is not the test — it must be active now. Account changes, a new phone or a password reset can leave it switched off without any obvious warning.
- “I am level 25 on my other account.” Level, standing and activity all belong to the account you sign in with. A second account starts from its own position, not your main account’s.
- “I played yesterday — on a different game.” The activity condition is about Siege: recent matches in this game that grant XP.
- “A reinstall or a new device reset my access.” Access lives on the account, not the installation. Devices and reinstalls change nothing; the four conditions decide.

//- 06 - BEFORE YOU TROUBLESHOOT
BEFORE YOU TROUBLESHOOT ANYTHING ELSE
Run the two-minute version first: confirm you are signed in to the official Marketplace website with the correct Ubisoft account, then check the four conditions in order — level in-game, verification in your account security settings, a recent match or two for activity, and no active sanction you have forgotten about. Most lockouts end somewhere in those four checks.

Straight answers
THE FOUR CONDITIONS
What are the four access conditions?
All four must be true at the same time: clearance level 25 or higher on your Siege account; 2-Step Verification active on your Ubisoft account; recent XP-granting activity in game; and an account in good standing, with no active bans or sanctions. Meet three of the four and the result is the same as meeting none: no access.
I am level 25 — why is the Marketplace still locked?
Because level is only one of four conditions. Check 2-Step Verification, recent XP activity and account standing — and remember the Marketplace itself is currently listed as temporarily closed.
Do the requirements differ on PlayStation or Xbox?
No. Access is account-based, so the same four conditions apply on every platform. Console players sign in through a browser with the same Ubisoft account.
I set up 2-Step Verification last year. Am I covered?
Not necessarily. Having set it up once and later turned it off is not enough — it has to be active now. Account changes, a new phone or a password reset can leave it switched off without any obvious warning. Turn it on in your Ubisoft account security settings; Ubisoft has said it is pushing app-based verification for key features such as the Marketplace, so an authenticator app is the safest setup.
I qualified months ago but have not played since. Why is it locked again?
Because of the activity condition: your account needs recent in-game activity that grants XP, and an account that qualified months ago and then went idle can find the Marketplace locked again. The fix is unglamorous — play some matches, earn XP, then try again.
TROUBLESHOOTING A LOCKOUT
Can support, or this site, unlock the Marketplace for me?
No. Access is decided automatically by the four conditions on your Ubisoft account. Nobody can override them manually — anyone offering to is running a scam.
I am level 25 on my other account. Does that count?
No. Level, standing and activity all belong to the account you sign in with. A second account starts from its own position, not your main account’s — and signing in with the wrong account is one of the commonest false lockouts.
I played yesterday. Does recent play in any game count?
No. The activity condition is about Siege: recent matches in this game that grant XP. Playing a different game does not refresh it.
Could the lockout simply be the closure?
Yes — check that first. Ubisoft currently lists the Marketplace as temporarily closed, with no reopening date announced, and while it is closed no account can trade, however perfect its standing. A reinstall or a new device changes nothing either way: access lives on the account, not the installation.
What is the quickest way to check everything?
The two-minute version: confirm you are signed in to the official Marketplace website with the correct Ubisoft account, then check the four conditions in order — level in-game, verification in your account security settings, a recent match or two for activity, and no active sanction you have forgotten about. Most lockouts end somewhere in those four checks; the Eligibility Checker walks through the same conditions and names the one blocking you.
