How R6 Marketplace Works

A plain-English guide to buying, selling, fees, requirements and order matching — with every claim labelled by how sure we are of it. Independent and not affiliated with Ubisoft.
//- Market status

Is the R6 Marketplace up right now?

We don’t guess. Until a trusted live source is connected, the status reads unverified rather than showing an invented “online” light.

When a verified status feed is connected, this section will show a Live badge with the source and timestamp. Until then, the Status Page explains how to get the real answer yourself — and how to tell an outage from an account-level block. .

//- Market mechanics

Order matching, explained.

The R6 Marketplace pairs buyers and sellers through orders. Here’s the core idea, simplified.
1

Sellers Post Asks

A seller lists an item at an asking price they'll accept.

2

Buyers Post Bids

A buyer sets the maximum price they're willing to pay.

3

Lowest Eligible Ask

A bid matches the lowest ask at or below the buyer's maximum.

4

Trade Executes

The item transfers; the sale price is the matched ask.

5

Fee Deducted

A percentage fee comes off the seller's proceeds.

Buying

Placing a buy order

You commit a maximum price; the system finds the cheapest eligible seller.

Selling

Listing an item

You set an asking price; remember the fee reduces what you actually keep.
//-Fees

The R6 Marketplace sale fee.

When an item sells, a percentage fee is taken from the gross sale price. The exact rate can change over time.

The 10% shown is a placeholder for illustration, not a verified rate. Set the real rate in our calculators and verify the current value in-game before you rely on a result.

//- Requirements

Before you can trade.

Access to the R6 Marketplace has eligibility conditions. Check the current official requirements in-game — we summarise the general shape here.

Account eligibility

Your account needs 2FA enabled, good standing and enough progression before anything can be traded.

Item tradability

Not every cosmetic is tradable. Run the checker to find out which rule applies to yours.

Verify in-game

Requirements change. Treat the in-game screen as the source of truth — here’s how to check.

Each mechanic, on its own page

This overview stays deliberately short. Every section above has a page behind it that goes properly into the detail.

01

Orders & holds

Sale orders, buy orders, reserved items and the two clocks that decide when a trade is even possible.

02

The sale fee

Who pays it, what it does to a round trip, and the break-even formula a flat mark-up gets wrong.

03

R6 Credits

The only currency the Marketplace accepts, and why converting a credit price to money is never a straight division.

04

Console & platforms

Which platforms can trade, which cannot, and why this site refuses to publish a console launch date.

05

Skins & collections

What actually drives value across universals, weapon patterns, attachment sets and Black Ice.

06

Updates & roadmap

A ledger of Marketplace claims, each tagged confirmed, reported, under review or speculation.
