Is the R6 Marketplace Down Right Now?

Short answer: the Marketplace is not reachable — but it is not a crash. Ubisoft has it temporarily closed while improvements are made, and no reopening date has been announced.

//- 01 - THE CURRENT POSITION

THE CURRENT OFFICIAL POSITION

Ubisoft’s official position is that the R6 Marketplace remains temporarily closed while several improvements are completed. Ubisoft has said that work is expected to take several months, and it has not announced a reopening date. That is the whole of what is officially known, and it applies to everyone: no account, platform or region can trade while the closure lasts.

This page does not show live server status, because this site has no live feed into Ubisoft’s systems and no public feed exists. What we can do is state the official position plainly, keep it current against Ubisoft’s announcements, and show you how to verify it yourself.

//- 02 - CLOSED VS LOCKED

"CLOSED FOR EVERYONE" IS NOT THE SAME AS "MY ACCOUNT IS LOCKED"

These two problems look identical from your browser — the Marketplace will not let you trade — but they have different causes and different fixes.

A closure is Ubisoft’s side: it affects every player at once, and nothing you change on your account makes any difference. The only fix is Ubisoft finishing its work and announcing a reopening.

An account lock is your side: the Marketplace is open, but your account does not meet an access condition. The confirmed gates are clearance level 25, 2-Step Verification currently active on your Ubisoft account, recent XP-granting activity in game, and an account in good standing with no active sanctions. When trading returns, a Marketplace that works for everyone else but not for you is almost always one of these four.

Closure or lock: different problems.
//- 03 - CHECK IT YOURSELF

HOW TO CHECK THE OFFICIAL STATUS YOURSELF

Official word always appears on Ubisoft’s own channels first: its Rainbow Six Siege news pages, its Help articles on the Marketplace, and its official support channels. If the closure ever changes, it will be announced there first.

Be careful with everything else. Whenever a popular service is closed, fake “it’s back” posts, countdown timers and lookalike login pages multiply — and a page asking for your Ubisoft sign-in during a closure is a scam pattern, not a shortcut. If a third-party site, video or social post claims a reopening date that Ubisoft’s own channels do not mention, treat it as a rumour.

Verify it on Ubisoft's own channels.

NOT SURE WHICH PROBLEM YOU HAVE?

If the Marketplace will not load, sign-in keeps looping, or you cannot tell a closure from an account problem, work through our Outage Triage tool. It walks through the likely causes in order — starting with the announced closure — and gives you the next step for each, or the official place to verify it.

//- 05 - YOUR ITEMS AND BALANCE

WHAT THE CLOSURE MEANS FOR YOUR ITEMS AND BALANCE

A closure is a pause on trading, not a threat to what you own. Your items stay in your inventory, your Credits balance stays yours, and your account standing is unaffected. Nothing needs to be rescued, moved or “protected” before a deadline — and any message claiming your items must be transferred, verified or claimed during the closure is a scam pattern built on exactly that fear.

What you cannot do is complete a trade. Listings cannot be filled while the system is closed, and no buy or sell order will go through — however your account is set up — until Ubisoft reopens the service. When it does reopen, your inventory and balance will be where you left them.

It is also worth saying what the closure is not: it is not a wind-down or a cancellation that Ubisoft has announced. Ubisoft describes it as a temporary closure for improvements, and until it says otherwise, that i

Your items and balance are safe.
//- 06 - NEITHER CLOSURE NOR LOCK

PROBLEMS THAT ARE NEITHER A CLOSURE NOR A LOCK

Not every failure to reach the Marketplace fits the two big categories:

  • Sign-in loops and errors. Being bounced back to the login page usually means the session or the account being used is the problem — signing in with a different Ubisoft account than the one you play on shows an empty, ineligible profile, which looks like a lock but is really the wrong door.
  • A page that will not load at all. Connection and browser problems can imitate an outage. The test is whether Ubisoft’s other official pages load, and whether Ubisoft has announced anything — not a third-party status site’s coloured dot.
  • Announcements you missed. A closure, a maintenance window or a rule change can all arrive while you were not looking. Ubisoft’s official channels carry the word first; checking them beats guessing from symptoms.

The triage tool linked below orders these checks for you, so you do not have to guess which kind of problem you have.

THE CURRENT STATUS

Closed, officially. Ubisoft describes the Marketplace as temporarily closed while improvements are completed. A brief outage and this closure look the same from your browser, but only Ubisoft can end the closure, and it has given no reopening date.

Ubisoft has not said. The only timing it has given is that the improvement work is expected to take several months. Any specific date you see elsewhere is not an official announcement, whatever it claims.

No. This site has no live connection to Ubisoft’s servers and cannot check them in real time. It reports the official position and shows you where Ubisoft publishes status news, which is the only source that can confirm a change.

Yes. It applies to everyone: no account, platform or region can trade while the closure lasts. A closure is Ubisoft’s side of the problem, and nothing you change on your account makes any difference to it.

No — not one Ubisoft has announced. Ubisoft describes it as a temporary closure for improvements, and until it says otherwise, that is the position this page reports: a pause on trading, not a wind-down.

Not necessarily. Sign-in loops usually mean the session or the account being used is the problem — signing in with the wrong Ubisoft account shows an empty, ineligible profile. A page that will not load can be a connection or browser problem imitating an outage; the test is whether Ubisoft’s other official pages load and whether Ubisoft has announced anything.
